This vessel has a carrying capacity of 600t in six separate tanks, three tanks per side of the same capacity and calibration. The tanks can be operated in pairs, so it is possible to carry two different cargos. The pump out rate of 90t per hour.
The vessel is in full survey to carry dangerous goods and is used primarily for bunkering large quantities of diesel fuel. The vessel has full stability reports, operation and procedure manuals, tank calibrations, fire fighting and spill recovery equipment.
The Liberty has also been used for effluent and oily waste removal from US navy ships when in port.
Main Pump: Thompsons 2 stage 8” Special Centrifugal Pump coupled to a Ruston Hornsby 5 cylinder diesel model 5VPH . Capacity – 250t/hr.
Stripping Pump: Stothert and Pitt size 150A pump coupled to a Gardner 6 cylinder diesel type 6LW. Capacity – 90 t/hr.
On the deck, above the large storage compartment (rope locker etc.,) is a fully equipped deckhouse for night watchman and mess and bunk facilities for crew.
The Liberty has delivered fuels to many ships both commercial and passenger including the royal yacht “Brittania”.
