Greshanne is a 225 tonne displacement, commonwealth surveyed, ocean going tug being 107’ long with a beam of 30’ and draught of 12’, with some 62’ of useable deck area between the tow hook and rear doors.

Accommodation is provided in four separate cabins, sleeping ten passengers and crew in air conditioned comfort, with 2 showers and toilets located on the main deck. The galley is fully equipped with gas stove, oven and electric microwave, servicing two separate mess areas, with refrigeration and freezers as well as a washing machine for laundry.

The main engine is a 1250hp Mirlees National, with 23 ton bollard pull at 720 rpm.

There are five auxiliary engines running generators ranging from 8 to 65 KVA, AC & DC, with the vessel wired for 12, 24, 240 volt and 3 phase power.

The gearbox has three speed settings in both forward and reverse with a free running service speed of 10 knots and maximum speed of 14 knots.

The vessel’s fuel capacity is 57 tons giving a cruising range of 15,000 miles. Fresh water capacity is 127 tons. The vessel is fully equipped with all necessary fire fighting; incorporating a CO2 smothering system and safety equipment, including 2 x 20 man liferafts and an extensive medical kit.

The engine room is fitted with an extensive workshop to enable on going maintenance and servicing while at sea, with a full complement of spares aboard for any major repairs. The stern locker to the rear of the engine room is used to store large tow lines, chain and heavy lifting equipment for ocean salvage work and heavy tow equipment along with portable pumps and generators.

The deck equipment comprises a 30’ reach Hiab crane and 2 x 20 ton deck winches with 2 km of cable. A 17’ aluminium dinghy with a 60hp motor is stowed on deck.

A full range of electronic equipment is featured on the Greshanne, including the following, GMDSS radio system, Sat C, Satellite phone, 2 x VHF radios and 1 x single side band radio, sea phone, 2 x hand held VHF radios, 1 x 72 mile radar and 1 x 24 mile radar, automatic pilot, GPS with colour plotter, colour echo sounder and weather fax and computer.
